It's social studies so you do have to remember a few vocab words but it is mainly about understanding the course. He gives good prep for tests and writing assignments (which you have to do by hand). Though you have to have a good work ethic because you will have to teach yourself basically everything (it can be a good thing or bad thing). Questions are really valued so ask away if you have any. The writing assignments matter a lot, I'd say a little bit more than tests but they're weighted pretty equally. Some historical events aren't covered in class so just remember them.

He is a nice person and teacher in my opinion (it's not a popular one). I like that he makes us learn on our own through the textbook because that made me understand the material better and he pushes us to relate our topic to the real world which a lot of students liked. Group projects are also a big thing, which I didn't like so just chose a nice group I guess. He also encourages discussion among the people around you but just stay on topic. His class is a lot about student learning in which you learn together in a group or alone and can talk about it with people to better understand it. He rambles quite a bit, he has improved though. And if you feel any pressure or need any accommodations (anxiety, etc) he's super chill about that.
