Had him for creative writing and for a few English classes. Readings are assigned and deconstructed like you would expect in an English class. Do you need to actually read the books? Not really, but you have to know what's going on in the assigned chapters, google is your best friend if you're not a big reader. Many of the books are very easy to find chapter analysis for online ;)

Class of 2021
I have to say his classes were always the highlight of my day. He knows how to create a nice atmosphere in the class and he interacts a bit with every student without having obvious favorites. He also tends to read out loud the books that he himself assigns (not every chapter, you still need to do some work), which is such a blessing because my reading comprehension isn't up there. It's hard to get an A+ in the class, but a C is also quite rare. This is the type of teacher that you will have no trouble trying your best for, trust in the process and do your best. If you have any questions about literally anything go straight to him, he is very helpful!
