Critical readings are your friend. Don't *necessarily* have to read your texts cover-to-cover but make sure you have a thorough understanding of them. If you are going to use essay exemplars, be willing to disagree with the points, but take notes on the structure, etc.

Former senior HSC marker who's extremely knowledgeable in class discussion and has god-tier HSC hacks. Bad at classroom management, but other than that, a very good teacher. She is also extremely helpful in one-on-one feedback sessions to the point that she'll help you plan your essays, etc. My success in HSC English Advanced is largely attributable to her help, feedback, and assistance with prep. If you don't like Period 3, she can take you out of that to give feedback haha.
