This teacher is strict but a great teacher in general... although he may make you stay back in class but you really learn a lot in his class.
Try to start preparing your essays earlier and show it to teachers, ask for feedback is the key. And remember, you actually can argue for English! Don’t give up, go talk to head teacher, deputy... it worth your effort
